PRELLE

Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, I moved to Northern California after graduating high school. There I attended Simpson University in Redding, graduating with a BA in Elementary Education and an undeclared minor in Biblical Studies.

In college I met my lovely wife, Jennifer. In 1999, we got married and moved to Bakersfield, CA where I was soon hired as a Junior High Youth Pastor at Calvary Chapel Westbrook. I spent over seven years as a pastor and during that time was blessed with two wonderful children, Selah and Cedar. Through a miraculous series of events, God unexpectedly called my family and I to move to Guinea, West Africa.

In the summer of 2007 we moved there and began serving the people. In line with our passion and our giftedness, God opened a door for us to teach the bible to children. After one year in Guinea we returned to Bakersfield with the desire to continue the ministry from the States.

Today we have over two hundred children attending bible schools in two different villages. After managing at an electrical company in Bakersfield for two years, my wife and I made a decision to pursue our passion to teach children and work with youth.

We landed in Vista, CA where God led us to Calvary Chapel Vista. It is so exciting for us to see God’s hand in our lives and we are ready once again to be a part of Jr. High ministry.

AARON & BROOKLYNN
SALVATO

Many of you have known me my whole life, I've been around at Calvary Vista since I was in 2nd grade. I went to school here, graduated here... my first job was as a church Janitor, and I've been on staff as the church graphics, web, & media guy since 2007. Calvary Vista is my 2nd home, and I've spent so many hours in that building I'm thinking of bringing in a bed!

When I was younger I used to think "I want to make movies for a living!" I used to dream of writing screenplays and directing movies, and while I enjoyed serving in the children's ministry and performing as a puppeteer (I KNOW some of you remember "The Iggy Show"), however, Youth Ministry wasn't exactly on my mind.

The Lord started doing a work in my heart when I went up with Trevor O'Keefe to the 2006 Jr. Winter Camp as a cameraman. As I started to hang out with the kids, I remembered influences in my life when I was a Jr. Higher, people like Evan Wickham, Mark Orosco, and Jason Yetz, who had a huge impact on me and my walk with God.

Before I knew It, I felt the tug on my heart for youth ministry! I began serving with Trevor as a Jr. High counselor in 2007, and through my experiences Jesus has really given me a huge love for our youth. Jr. High is such a HUGE time for developing walks with God, and I knew I wanted to make an impact on young lives, just like the people who made an impact on me.

I met my wonderful wife Brooklynn at the Bible College in York England, despite my sincere belief that no girl on the planet would be crazy enough to have anything to do with me! I am so blessed by her heart to disciple and love Jr. High girls, and I am so thankful to have her serving with me in ministry. Her loving heart for people and constant encouragement is amazing to have!

We are so excited the Lord has allowed us to pursue our passion for youth ministry here at Calvary Vista, and are honored to be able to serve the youth alongside the Prelles and our amazing counselor team. Its going to be an amazing time.

BRYN TWENTE

What can be said about Bryn Twente? Brooklynn met her at Bible College and decided to take her home in her suitcase. Bryn is amazing, and she brings a lot of wackiness and fun to the group, which is pretty much what being a Jr. High counselor is all about! When she's not up to doing funny/crazy stuff, Bryn can be usually be found helping decorate our events or baking tasty treats for the kids! She used to be Brooklynn's roomate, which is also awesome.

CALEB DONNELLY

Caleb Donnelly is honestly way smarter than me (Aaron), which I appreciate. A wise and wonderful man, Caleb has a great heart for kids. Caleb has taught several Bible studies at The Core, and will indeed teach more. A master of wit, Caleb is a pretty funny guy. When he laughs at your joke, you know it was a " good one". Caleb is our current Jr. High worship leader, and leads the kids in worship often on sunday mornings. He's awesome!

AMBER BIERNACKI

Amber is amazingly sweet! Amber is kind, considerate, funny, and all-around great! Amber is a huge blessing to The Core, and continues to love and encourage the Jr. High girls.

ASHLEY & SEBASTION
ATKISON

Two of the coolest people I know! Ashley and Sebastion are always ready for good times. Just don't call them "Sebashley." We are really blessed to have them around. :)

We believe in using the gifts of some of our amazing highschoolers at CCV! They are always a huge blessing to the kids at Camps, Home FellowShip, and in Discipleship. Thank you, you guys!
